GV-Series Digtal Video Surveillance System
GeoVision v8.5 software released Aug 2011
GeoVision software
Do NOT upgrade your software at
random. Software and hardware card versions have to match before
they can operate.
Please consult us for compatibility support before you download a
new software. You can also
download an utility. It will test your card and advise the latest
version you can use.
Version 8.5 works best with Windows7 64 bits, in that case, it can make use of Sandy Bridge feature on the CPU. IF you use a mother board with on board video chip, you can also make use of the GPU for highest efficiency.
GeoVision hardware
The older GV cards(GV800, 650, 600) cannot be used with i3, i5,
i7 computers. You
would need the new B series cards, mainly PCIe (GV800B, 650B, 600B).
Combo cards, e.g. 1120, 1240 1480 will support old and new Intel
CPU motherboards. This B card requirement has nothing to do with Windows
platform or GeoVision s/w version.
*** This v8.5 release doubles up as a DVR for GV (GeoVision) cards and a free NVR for GeoVision manufactured IP cameras. Users can have up to 36 cctv and IP cameras on one PC, provided that CPU and hard drive writing speed permits. The s/w, with a purchased key, will support other IP cameras e.g. Sanyo and HikVison, Vivotek, Arecont, and ACTi. Support Windows7 32/64 bits.
